Whit came to visit me after drama rehearsal was finished. My peers were filing out of the theater, and only Mr. Gibson, Grant, and a few of his production team members and I remained. While Grant was busy putting away his audio equipment, I was helping Mr. Gibson and the production team clean up the stage.
“Hey,” Whit greeted as he approached the stage. “Hi, Whit,” I said, smiling at him. “Give me a few minutes.” Whit nodded, as he pulled his phone out and leaned against the edge of the stage.
After I helped Mr. Gibson put away a few stage decorations, I headed over to Whit, and took a seat next to him.
“Wanna grab something to eat, Ez?” Whit asked as he pocketed his phone. “Sure,” I replied. “Maybe get one of your delicious muffins from the Den,” Whit said, flashing me a smile. He loved the muffins I baked on the days I worked at the Den cafe.
“Haha, yes,” I responded. Whit reached up to my face with a gentle hand, and pulled me in for a kiss.
I pulled away, blushing red. I jumped off of the stage, leaned against Whit as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders, and walked out of the theater with him.

Yep. I still can't win with my phone camera. But at least I used natural light instead of the more inconsistent fluorescent light fixture in my house. But really. . .I want a damn scanner already. The artifacts are driving me insane. At least Little Photo helped get rid of some of them. . .
Meet Ezra and Whit, my newest characters, who will appear in my newest story, The Lead Role. Ezra and Whit are both college students in Manhattan, New York. Whit is a full-time student, currently studying to major in Architectural Engineering. Ezra is studying to become an actor, and major in Drama and Theatre Arts, while working part time at the Den cafe.
A few notes:
- While drawing this, the only song I listened to was “Passion” by Uppermost. In addition to this drawing, “Passion” has also inspired the ending scene to my NaNoWriMo story “Broken Wings.” It's a very peaceful, slow-paced song, with very gentle tones, unlike the quicker dance sounds found in Uppermost's other songs (“Crossfader” and “Positive” come to mind). It's a very uplifting song, and you can listen to it here >> [link] - While I'm very satisfied with how Whit turned out, I meant for Ezra to be more feminine-looking in this drawing, but I may have failed. Ohwell. Ezra is supposed to be kind of an androgynous character anyways. The portraits I've done of him may bring out the more feminine look I was going for. - Even though I've drawn this now, where Ezzy and Whit are already in a relationship, this won't happen until much later in the story.
Thankies! When I was also writing their story (or what I have so far) I began to feel this will have to do more with the theatre too, considering what I have in store for them
Looks like I'll be posting the story soon, if I can get around to it Maybe I'll end up posting a little excerpt and then linking it to the Google Drive file, since it's currently 19 pages so far.
